BRING ON BETA!!!!

so....my first ever hurricane is coming. tho compared to Wilma, its not really much more than a lil thunder storm. Its currently only a Cat 1 with winds around 85 mph. Its supposed to strengthen to a Cat 2 before it hits the east Honduras coast with winds around 100 mph, but then its supposed to weaken back down to a Cat 1 by the time it gets to Tegucigalpa(where i am) so the winds here will probably only be like 70ish.

The thing is tho. its not really the wind that has people scared. I mean, yeah, 70 mph winds can do some serious damage, esp. in a place that seems to have trash just laying all over the place and houses made out of tin....but being in the mountains, when you get like 10 inches of rain, gravity takes over and all the water rushes to the valleys and cause massive flooding and high speed rivers in places that dont usually have rivers.(ie neighborhoods, etc.)

so yeah, im kinda hoping that Beta takes a turn to the north. send it to Florida or something.

Our house is kinda on a hill, and i would say is a solid maybe 30 or 40 feet above the bottom of the valley near us. Im not sure what that really means, but im sure its better than being in the bottom of the valley. I guess we´ll see....wish us luck.

hmmmmmm

it seems like no1 seems to read my blog anymore. but i guess thats my fault for going so long between updates.

things in Honduras are ok, i guess. ive really come to the conclusion that teaching(at least this age group) just isnt for me. im really looking fwd to going home in december.

well, our football team has been seeming to tank as of late. i guess maybe Kris was right afterall about John L. Im not sure he´ll be our coach by December.

im really looking forward to basketball season. i think we´ll have an outstanding team. i think the X factor will be Marquise Gray. We know what we´ll get from Ager, Brown, Davis, and Neitzel. I think those four make us a top 5 team. But we need 1 more big man(marquise) to be able to play at an all big ten level(or close to it) for us to really be a true national championship contender. I think if Marquise can come in and be a 15 and 10, or even a 12 and 8 type guy, weve got as good of a chance as anyone to cut the nets down in Indy.

So i heard anthony hamo was given a scholarship and many are expecting him to take over the ''Bograkas'' role of the 8 minutes of pure hustle per game. kinda interesting. i honestly thought Jason Aerts would be the one filling that role, but then again...hamo was an all state player for Flint Powers Catholic.

POR FIN!!

first off......to see a picture of me and the homeless dog that lives on my street visit www.meganandbrad.blogspot.com

sorry, its taken so long to update. The internet has been down at the church for the last 2 weeks, so its made my access limited. things are ok here, tho often stressful. the principal of the school is incredibly not respectful to his teachers(to say the least) and has actually told been telling lies to the directors of the school(his bosses) about us. I wont go into details about the lies, but it makes it incredibly difficult to work for a person who does that. But i just try to remember that im not working for him, im working for God and for the students.

My 11th graders are by far my favorite class. I honestly go a little bit easier on them than I do the other grades, but thats because they perform better than the other grades. 10th is ok, but has been getting worse. 9th was horrible, but is getting better. 8th was ok, but has gotten a LOT worse. and 7th is a constant ok.

I actually updated my blog last week, but for whatever reason, it didnt work. i hope this update works.

Saturday, Im going on a field trip with the 11th graders. One of the other teachers(who only speaks spanish) told me about it. I understood most of what she said, but she talks so fast, that im not 100% sure....but basically, it sounds like this....its some sort of school or university thats like 50 minutes away, and theyre having some sort of party or festival type thing where therell be dancing, food, and people from different countries all over the world. so sounds interesting, i guess ill find out more when i get there. i think ill just enjoy hanging out with the 11th graders.

Huge game for the Spartans saturday. A win would put us right back into the thick of things for the Big Ten race. It´ll be a big game. I hope we can find a way to get the W.

thats all for now. GO STATE!
